Engine Mounts and Belt Clearance

Another objective I had while the engine was out was to install new engine mounts...........and to position the engine on the new mounts so that I could remove and install and a fan belt if necessary. Thank God I've never had a fan belt problem as there was no way it would fit past the steering rack and the cross brace. With the new mounts I was able to gain belt clearance by paying attention to the little bit of "adjustment" there is with them. As the mounts wear and soften I may lose what little room I've gained so "time will tell".

The arrows show the only areas where you can pick up a little room when you bolt them on.

Now there's plenty of room to get the belt out and back on.
