A Lot to Grind

As I mentioned earlier, this was NOT a "drop in" conversion and it required cutting and grinding on both the alternator and the engine block.

On the alternator there are 2 "tabs" that need to be ground off for proper alignment, fit and range of adjustment. The picture below shows the stock GM unit before any grinding or cutting takes place.

Tab 1 was removed by grinding it down flush with the case while Tab 2 was removed with a cut-off wheel and then ground flush. Once complete, it'll look like this.
